The transformation

Trusting her skills, her choices and finding health, wellbeing and joy while stepping into a new career at 49

She Looked Like She Had It All Together

Jen spent 25 years in education.

She started in the classroom and eventually moved into a district leadership role, coordinating a STEM program and juggling conferences, deadlines, presentations and more moving pieces than she could count.

From the outside, she was accomplished and successful.

Underneath, she was struggling.

TMJ pain. Chronic headaches. Gut problems. Panic attacks. Poor sleep. Weight gain. Brain fog.

She was seeing specialists and trying everything she could think of — massage, acupuncture, yoga, working out and other therapies — trying to figure out what was wrong and make the discomfort go away.

But her body kept telling her something wasn't working.

There were moments when she could barely function at work.

Standing in front of a classroom of 30 students, her heart would start racing and the room would begin to tilt.

"I'm going down and I have no idea how I'm going to get these kids to go get someone to help me."

Another time, after clenching her jaw so severely overnight, she arrived at a two-day conference with a massive headache, intense neck and jaw pain and double vision.

She still pushed through.

Because that's what she had always done.

"I recognized I am not a functioning human being."

Looking back, Jen describes the previous decade as simply:

Sheer survival.

She was getting through work but had little left for her family at the end of the day — and they let her know it.

And yet, she genuinely cared about her work. She believed in what she was doing and wanted to make a difference.

The problem was that she felt increasingly powerless to create the impact she wanted within a system filled with politics and moving parts beyond her control.

She was handling it all.

And crumbling underneath it.

The Turning Point

Jen was actively seeking relief, trying one physical healing modality after another. While many of them helped—sometimes significantly—none addressed the root cause.

While she didn't fully realize it at the time, she needed to strengthen her inner foundation so she could break the repeat cycles keeping her stuck in symptom management and instead develop a completely new approach to navigating her life.

The realization began when she noticed her sister Andrea — Founder of The F.I.T. LIFE Method — showing up differently in situations that previously would have left her feeling silenced, inadequate, or pulled into conflict. Jen was close enough to witness a profound shift taking place and asked Andrea:

"What are you doing?"

What started as curious 1:1 conversations quickly led to Jen attending a multi-day event, followed by shorter targeted trainings. Ultimately, it sparked a decision that would redefine her future: Jen chose to become a Certified F.I.T. LIFE Method Mentor + Coach.

The F.I.T. LIFE Method Certification Program features a unique, rigorous requirement: every student must personally complete the core F.I.T. LIFE Program as part of their training. This ensures they solidify their own inner foundation and actively live their own transformation before guiding and mentoring others through it.

They don't just teach the concepts. They live them.

For Jen, her journey through the program changed far more than she ever expected. Here is how the 8 Essential Life Skills that form the foundation of the program helped her completely transform her life:

1

Self-Connection

One of Jen's biggest realizations was that she hadn't really learned how to make decisions for herself.

"I basically have gone through much of my life with other people making decisions for me."

Through the work, she began reconnecting with what she wanted, valued and knew to be true.

"I have learned to trust my instincts, trust my gut, trust my skillset, trust my experience."

That self-trust gave her something she'd been missing for years: the ability to choose.

"I finally learned how to make a decision that I liked."

2

Elevated Mindset

After years of feeling stuck and powerless, Jen learned to shift from anticipating what could go wrong to creating positive expectation and self-belief.

That shift began showing up in how she approached situations that once would have intimidated her — with greater confidence, possibility and trust in herself.

It wasn't that life suddenly became easier.

Jen became more confident in her ability to handle whatever came her way. She learned to see obstacles not as permanent blocks, but as opportunities to get curious about.

3

Emotional Regulation

Jen learned that what she's feeling in the moment isn't always about what's happening right now. A current situation can activate an old belief, story or experience.

Instead of automatically reacting, suppressing her emotions or pushing through, she learned to pause, understand what was underneath the emotion and choose how she wanted to respond.

She also learned not to take things so personally — one of the biggest shifts she's experienced.

Her emotions became information she could work with, rather than something she needed to push down.

4

Nervous System Regulation

Jen became much more aware of the early signs that she was moving into an old stress response, including the jaw clenching and physical tension that had become such a regular part of her life.

The difference now is that she recognizes what's happening. She can pause. She can choose. And she knows what tools and practices help her come back to herself.

That experience eventually led her to become a F.I.T. Breathwork Practitioner, deepening her own practice and giving her another tool to share with others.

5

Intuitive Discernment

For much of her life, Jen looked outside herself for answers.

The F.I.T. LIFE Program helped her develop a deeper trust in her own internal knowing.

That trust became especially important when she began considering a completely different career path.

Rather than waiting for someone else to tell her what the right decision was, she learned to listen to herself — and then act on what she knew was truly right for her.

She trusted herself enough to retire early from a career she once loved but had outgrown, and at 49, choose a new career path and a new way of approaching life.

6

Elevated Communication

Jen's understanding of boundaries changed.

She used to see them as hard lines — telling people what they could or couldn't do.

Now she approaches communication from a place of care, expressing her needs while creating space for shared understanding.

"If I come from a really kind, compassionate place and the other person feels like I care about them and I want to come to a shared understanding together, we have a better outcome."

It's a skill she now brings into her work with both women in The F.I.T. LIFE Program and the young adults she coaches.

7

Abundance Focus

After years of feeling stuck and powerless, Jen began experiencing life through a different lens.

For her, abundance is connected to positive expectation and self-belief. When those are at the forefront of her mind, she feels grounded, capable and ready for what's next.

Life hasn't stopped throwing curveballs.

She simply trusts herself to handle them with much greater skill and ease.

"Life is going to throw you curve balls. But I can handle those curve balls and still hit them out of the park."

8

Aligned Action

The transformation eventually became visible in the shape of Jen's life.

After 25 years in education, she chose a completely new direction.

Today, she is a Certified F.I.T. LIFE Method Mentor + Coach on the FLM Platform and has built her own coaching business supporting young adults.

Her previous career didn't become irrelevant.

It became part of what made her uniquely qualified for what came next.

"It taps into my 25 years of experience as an educator and blending that with my F.I.T. LIFE Method certifications, it's the perfect combo."

"When I actually live my life how it works for me and I do my work how it works for me, really cool things happen.

I just want all of my friends to come and be a part of this program because I know they are going to feel so much better about themselves and their lives and to be a part of this gorgeous group of women who build each other up, and who just want the best for each other."

Jen Wilson, 54

Today, Jen has the freedom to shape her days around what matters to her — spending time with family, in nature, travelling regularly and working from wherever she chooses.

After years of simply getting through her days, she now gets to choose how she spends them.

For her next chapter, she chose a career that brings her genuine joy, allows her to work from anywhere, and draws on 25 years of experience in a way that feels meaningful and uniquely her own.

She isn't just surviving her life anymore. She's living it — on her terms.

Her husband, kids and friends have noticed the difference in her too. As Jen became more confident, present and fully herself, the people closest to her began experiencing that shift right alongside her — and it positively impacted their own lives and relationships too.

Because Jen didn't just learn new tools.

She learned to listen to herself.

To trust what she already knew.

To stop automatically putting herself last.

And to recognize that she didn't have to keep living a life she'd worked so hard to achieve when it no longer felt good to live.

At 49, she gave herself permission to choose differently.

She left a career she had once loved, stepped into a completely new path and began approaching life in a way that feels far more aligned with who she is now.

Not perfect. Not problem-free. Just more intentional, more joyful and more fully her own.
