The struggle
Stuck in the "rat race", questioning herself at every turn and feeling disconnected from her son and the life she'd always envisioned
The manifestation
Her own practice built on her values, a deeply connected relationship with her son, renewed love and vibrant health
Nancy Ottawa had always dreamed of owning her own financial practice.
She envisioned serving women in a way that reflected her own values, but she couldn't bring herself to leave the business partnership she'd built. She didn't fully trust herself to succeed on her own.
Instead, she kept trying to make a business that no longer aligned with her values work.
At work, she felt unfulfilled chasing goals that had never truly been hers. Success was measured by someone else's definition and no matter how hard she worked, it never felt like it was enough. The more she tried to follow the prescribed path, the more she questioned herself.
"Why can't I do better?"
"Why can't I be more successful?"
"What am I doing wrong?"
At home, she found herself parenting the only way she knew — through control. Raised in the 70s and 80s, she'd inherited the belief that good parenting meant staying in control. Yet the harder she tried, the further she felt from the connection she longed to have with her teenage son.
She also carried quiet fears into her personal life. After being both divorced and widowed, she'd spent years believing love probably wasn't in the cards for her anymore. She'd tried dating, but every opportunity seemed to end with another reason not to move forward.
Walking into The F.I.T. LIFE Program, Nancy was spiraling a bit and she believed she needed one thing: a business coach — someone who could tell her what she was doing wrong and help her finally figure out the right path forward.
What she didn't realize was that the answers she was searching for were waiting in the place she least expected.
Nancy joined The F.I.T. LIFE Program hoping to gain clarity about her business —
Should she stay in the partnership?
Or finally pursue the dream of opening her own practice?
Instead, the coaching led somewhere completely different:
Her relationship with her son.
Because the challenges showing up in her parenting weren't separate from her business — they were inviting her to develop the very skills she would need to manifest the business and life she truly wanted.
Rather than trying to just solve the business "problem," the program helped her focus on strengthening her relationship with herself by using her parenting challenges as the path.
Week after week, she learned to trust the process, even when she couldn't yet see where it was leading.
As she developed greater emotional resilience, healthier communication, deeper self-trust and a stronger relationship with her son, she was also becoming the woman capable of creating the business, relationships and life she'd always envisioned.
What felt like a detour was actually the fastest path to everything she wanted.
Here's how Nancy transformed her greatest obstacles into her greatest opportunities by developing the 8 Master Manifestor Skills.
1
Self-Connection
Nancy stopped measuring her life against someone else's definition of success and became deeply connected to what she actually wanted. Instead of chasing external expectations, she began creating a compelling vision rooted in her own values, dreams and purpose and made learning to live this a high priority.
2
Elevated Mindset
She released the belief that there was only one path to success and stopped seeing herself as someone who wasn't good enough. She realized she wasn't failing — she had simply been trying to parent, run her business and approach love and relationships using a rule book that wasn't designed for the kind of life she wanted to live. She valued connection in her relationships, purpose in her work, joy in her life and living life fully.
Ultimately she came to see that she'd been living by a core belief: that control creates safety, success, and happiness. But the more she tried to control life, the more disconnected she became from herself and the people she loved. She discovered that surrender, trust, and aligned action — not control — were what opened the door to the life she had always envisioned. And she didn't just learn this as a concept; she learned how to live it.
3
Emotional Regulation
Nancy had a wonderful childhood and saw herself as a positive, optimistic person. But like many women, she'd never learned how to move through fear, frustration, anger, grief and overwhelm in healthy, productive ways. As a result, those emotions quietly shaped how she parented, made business decisions and showed up in her relationships.
Within the safety of the coaching container, she developed the capacity to experience difficult emotions without being controlled by them. Instead of reacting from fear, anger or overwhelm, Nancy learned to pause, regulate and intentionally choose how she wanted to show up — creating the inner conditions for the relationships, business and life she wanted to manifest.
4
Nervous System Regulation
Nancy expanded her capacity to function optimally instead of constantly feeling like she was racing against time. By giving herself permission to receive support, lean into community, process difficult emotions, trust her own inner guidance and move at a pace aligned with her values, she discovered a new way of living. Instead of hustling for her worth or trying to control every outcome, she learned to surrender, trust the process and lead from a place of authentic alignment, allowing her to feel more grounded and confident in herself and her decisions.
5
Intuitive Discernment
Instead of waiting for someone else to tell her the right decision, Nancy learned to trust her own inner wisdom. By strengthening her relationship with herself, she found the confidence to leave a business partnership that no longer aligned with her values, build the practice she'd dreamed about for years and become the confident and wise guide her son needed.
6
Elevated Communication
She transformed the way she communicated with her son, creating the connected relationship she'd always wanted. As she learned to listen more deeply, communicate with greater intention and respond instead of react, those same skills naturally strengthened every important relationship in her life — including her business relationships, friendships and romantic partnership. Nancy says this is one of the most valuable skills she gained because it changed every relationship she has.
7
Abundance Focus
Nancy intentionally created a compelling vision for the life she wanted. She wrote it down, read it daily and continually returned to it — not to control how it would happen, but to remind herself of who she was becoming. Every obstacle became an opportunity to strengthen the very skills her vision required. And as a result, Nancy is most proud of this:
"I learned how to find joy in my life."
8
Aligned Action
Rather than forcing change before she was ready, Nancy allowed her inner growth to guide her external decisions. When the crossroads in her business finally arrived, what had once felt terrifying became surprisingly clear. She confidently launched her own practice, the transition unfolded with far more ease than she'd imagined, she remained friends with her former business partner and was amazed by how many clients naturally chose to come with her.
"I think people look at me now and think, 'She's so lucky.' But I designed this. I wrote down what I wanted my life to look like and read it every day until it became part of my reality."
